Job Description

Responsibilities include:

Develop and implement programs and policies for monitoring, and maintaining HSE compliance.

Compile and analyze data relating to HSE compliance and a safe work environment.

Evaluate EHS records, internal compliance audits, and training to make recommendations to upper management to correct any observed issues.

Develop and provide input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material safety data sheets, policies, and procedures.

Responsible for all equipment purchased, maintained, and operated by the EHS department.

Recommend and implement control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.

Supervise outside environmental contractors.

Maintain OSHA compliance and provide technical guidance to management, government agencies, and regarding health related problems and correct use of protective clothing, etc.

Monitor the company's EHS standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Develop and implement programs to monitor worker injuries, incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Maintain working knowledge of new developments in the industry and governmental regulations.

Develop and facilitate training for workers on issues related to environmental, health and safety.

Supervise employees in the EHS department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • interviewing, hiring, and training employees,
  • planning, assigning, and directing work,
  • appraising performance,
  • addressing complaints and
  • resolving problems.

Education or Experience                                           

Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; and two or more years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
